Artist's Comments  EDIT: I'm under the impression that, out on the net, this is the single most abused artwork in my gallery . I find that amusing. Especially since it's the only relatively large, (solo) male artwork that I ever drew. XD You asked for more of him (well, some of you did) and here he is!  SQUEE~  *cough* Why am I fawning over my own creation? Don't say anything about the grossly deformed sword, lol. Pretend you don't see it if you must. I've never been particularly good at designing weapons and that design definitely won't stay permanent. I was simply making it up as I went. I don't like it too much. Anyway, the outfit came out differently... AGAIN. His clothes were a pain to design. More so than Hirari's. Maybe because he's a guy? I have this... terrible karma when it comes to drawing guys. I'm sorry you can't really see what he's wearing underneath that robe-like thing. But then again, maybe it's better that way... haha. The design underneath sort of looks similar to... *cough* *wheeze* Never mind. Ahem. For the benefit of those who don't know, this is Hiioryuu. I don't think he has a last name. He's mysterious that way. *shot*. He's the main male character from my original and currently non-existent brainchild entitled: Hanne Monogatari (For now, anyway, because I le suck at coming up with spiffy titles yeah!). Below is a rough outline of his character. Things may change as I go on. Nothing's truly confirmed yet and I'm very fickle-minded. I'm terrible at originality so brace yourselves for cliches as you read. Don't say I didn't warn you. (Yes, you may begin skipping now...) --- PROFILE Hiioryuu Age: He appears to be around 18 (is possibly much older since he isn't human nor from this world) Status: Former member of The Order (Lol, please pray that I'd soon come up with a better name); the Hanne's main sheild/guard. Likes: Strangely enough... music. xD (He only discovers this during his stay in the human world) And cooking, I suppose? (Wow... I just totally ruined his 'machismo' image, lol.) Dislikes: Naoya (when she's in one of her annoying teasing-modes, which is all the time, basically), developing close attachments, authority Description: Hiioryuu is the descendent of a certain race that's highly misunderstood in Aethscavoir. They're either feared or hated, looked upon as a symbol of darkness and the harbinger of destruction for the bloodshed they had brought in the past. Ever since he was little, Hiioryuu has learned to trust and rely on no one but himself, having lost his parents at a very young age. He grew up being hated, shunned and ridiculed because of his bloodline. In an odd turn of events, he was chosen as the celestial guard for the previous Hanne, the third vessel, Rikyou (though not without avid protests from others) who was also the one who gave him freedom and an open path when previously, his world had been nothing but darkness. She saw past his bloodline and accepted him for who he is. As a result, both shared a unique bond and he became her close confidant. (Being in her position, Rikyou is forced to keep her emotions in check for the public, appearing unwavering at all times. She finds that in front of Hiioryuu, she could let go of that facade, even if for a little while.) However, Rikyou was killed, the circumstances of the murder dubious, and Hiioryuu ended up being accused of it. He was the only witness to what really happened but his unwillingness to cooperate lead many to believe that he somehow lost control of the darker side within him and killed her himself. Only few people believed he was innocent. He left The Order and Aethscavoir for the human world soon after. Due to his past, Hiioryuu doesn't easily let anyone in. He usually incorporates formality whenever he speaks or addresses someone as his way of forming a sort of distance between the person. He seems cool and rarely displays any blatant burst of emotions but isn't entirely aloof. He's actually rather acute at interpreting others which makes him sensitive to even the slightest changes to people's emotions (this is also one of the reasons he distrusts Naoya - he senses the woman hides too many secrets). He's also extremely patient. He dislikes being controlled, particularly by those who hold ranks above his. He's usually very focused when given an objective. On top of his bloodline and skills as a fighter, he possesses the potential of a natural leader but refuses to acknowledge it, for some reason. ------------------------ Notes: 1. People of the race carry a sort of ‘darkness’ within themselves, much like a demon. They can turn this ‘darkness’ into energy used to fuel their attacks. However, failing to control it and they will simply kill and destroy until there is nothing left. They wear an item which acts as a seal that limits this dark power from leaking out. Hiioryuu's is supposedly an earpiece. 2. The Order - a group of selected and trained individuals with exceptional skills in magic and combat, who have sworn an oath to protect the maiden/vessel (Hanne) at all cost. Their job is to protect the maiden, making sure that the great power she holds remain safe from the hands of those who might misuse it. They're also the highest authority in Aethscavoir and basically runs the whole place. However, they are also divided by factions with their own agendas. 3. Aethscavoir [Ays-kah-vo-waa] - The name of the alternate dimension which lay side by side with the human world. Is the main gateway that branches out into other dimensions. 4. The celestial maiden/ vessel - A girl chosen as the keeper of an enormous well of power which holds all the different worlds together and ensuring their balance. The maiden acts as a vessel that stores and channels this huge energy. 6.
